How do you stay focused while coding?

Victor Phan 📅 2 hours ago General Discussion
Do you guys have any tips to staying focused while coding? I always tend to just lose track of where I am or get distracted by my phone. It's really affecting my productivity and I'm starting to feel frustrated about it.

I use the Pomodoro technique - 25 minutes of focused coding, then a 5-minute break. It really helps maintain concentration! I also keep my phone in another room during coding sessions.

Try putting your phone in another room or using apps that block distracting websites during coding sessions. I use Focus and it's been a game changer for my productivity.

Best resources for learning React?

Sarah Chen 📅 5 hours ago Resource Request
I'm new to React and looking for comprehensive learning materials. What are your favorite tutorials, books, or courses? I have some JavaScript experience but I'm completely new to React and modern frontend development.

The official React documentation is excellent. Also check out React Beta docs for the latest patterns with hooks. I'd also recommend building a few small projects to practice.

Code review feedback - feeling discouraged

Mike Johnson 📅 1 day ago Career & Learning
I submitted my first code review at work and got a lot of feedback. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and discouraged. How do you handle constructive criticism? Has anyone else felt this way when starting out?

Remember, it is essential for everyone to get feedback on their work! Please accept the criticism and don't take it personally, but actually try to listen and do what others have to say. Criticism is needed to learn and grow, and feeling like this is normal! You will eventually learn the basics of things and feel much more confident. Hang in there!
